Tomorrow night, I’m flying to Paris.
And I’m freaking out.
Right now, there are major protests happening throughout the country.
Transportation workers are on strike.
And because of the massive disruption to the train system it’s caused, we’ve had to make last-minute changes to our plans that cost us an extra $650.
I’m mad.
I haven’t even boarded my flight yet and I’m already angry at the French.
But then, my wife reminded me of something:
“Wondering how we’re going to get from Paris to Bordeaux is a pretty good problem to have.”
And she was right.
When she put it that way, everything came into perspective.
We’re facing 1st-world problems.
And no matter what goes wrong over the next 3 weeks, we’ll still be doing alright.
We’ll be in a beautiful country…
I have an exciting new job…
A loving family…
Close friends…
And small community of readers who — over 20 months of daily emails (600+ in total) — stood by faithfully as I bitched about all my not-so-terrible problems.
So…
Before I leave ya’ll for good, I just gotta say:
Thanks for listening.
I know it’s not always easy.
Your pen pal,
Matt Rizvi
